Calusa District serves Hardee and Highlands Counties.

           Calusa Scouting is....

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America and Calusa District is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law.

Scouting is about building character, developing personal fitness, and learning leadership and citizenship. These goals are achieved for the 7-10 year olds in our Cub Scout Program.

Cub Scouting means “doing.” You have lots to do as a Cub Scout—crafts, games, sports, songs, stories, and puzzles, to name a few things. Much of the fun happens right in the den and pack. Cub Scouts also go to events like the annual Blue and Gold Banquet, field contests, and the Pinewood Derby. They go on field trips. They go camping and have other kinds of outdoor adventures. They take part in community events. Cub Scouts do all sorts of exciting stuff!

Boy Scouts are in the outdoors. Hiking, camping, swimming, canoeing, climbing, high-adventure challenges, and fun are all part of the program.
We want to get you  into the outdoors and experience life.

Venturing is a youth development program of the Boy Scouts of America for young men and women who are 14 (and have completed the eighth grade) through 20 years of age. Venturing's purpose is to provide positive experiences to help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.

Sea Scouts is a specialized segment of the Venturing program, which was organized to address members' boating skills and promote knowledge of our maritime heritage.Sea Scout units, called "ships," focus on sailing and cruising either sailboats or power vessels.

Varsity Scouting is a program for young men who are at least 14 years of age but not yet 18. It provides options for young men who are looking for rugged high adventure or challenging sporting activities and still want to be a part of a Scouting program that offers the advancement opportunities and values of the Boy Scouts of America.

Exploring is a worksite-based program. It is part of Learning for Life's career education program for young men and women who are 14 (and have completed the eighth grade) through 20 years old. Exploring's purpose is to provide experiences that help young people mature and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults.
